Sun River Gardens accepts returns on all non-plant related goods and plant goods within 30 days of purchase as long as the item(s) are accompanied by an original receipt and in “non-altered” condition.
Full Refund: To qualify for a full refund of the good(s) you are returning, please bring the item back to Sun River Gardens within 24 hours from the original date of purchase.
In-Store Credit: If returning an item after 24 hours, in-store credit will be issued for the amount paid at the time of purchase.
Note: Merchandise without an original receipt or proof of purchase is not able to be returned. Chemical based products and plant remedy supplies such as fertilizers, sprays, etc. are not returnable once opened. All clearance items over 25% are deemed final sale and no guarantees or returns will be offered. Guarantees are not offered to those that receive landscaper discounts. Please see below for exceptions regarding special orders, living arrangements, furniture and to view our plant guarantees.
Special Orders/Custom Living Arrangements: Special ordered items in sizes, colors, quantities, styles, or varieties not normally stocked may not be returned. We encourage our customers to carefully consider their needs before placing special orders; please note that all special orders require a 50% pre-payment prior to ordering. All Final Sale – no returns or exchanges.
Non-Custom Living Arrangements: These arrangements are seasonal and have a limited blooming period. Because of this, returns must be made by the end of the following business day and in non-altered condition.
Furniture: All furniture items purchased at full price can be returned within 30 days for a store credit of the merchandise cost. Furniture must be returned in like-new condition. Returns should be made in the original packaging and materials, when possible.
Vehicle Loading: We are happy to assist in loading purchases into vehicles. It is important that customers review their invoices or make sure that they have received all items purchased. In addition, customers should inspect the manner in which the items are loaded before leaving the nursery. Sun River Gardens will not be responsible for damaged or broken items once the customer has left the nursery.
It is our mission to ensure that our customers are completely happy with their Sun River Gardens purchases and it is our sincere hope that our customers will utilize good judgment and a spirit of fairness before requesting to return purchases. **Sun River Gardens reserves the right to make the final judgment as to the appropriateness of a return.
We ask that you take extra care with your living plants as they are perishable and subject to variable conditions such as weather, transportation, soil quality, watering, and positioning in your garden. Acceptance of our plant products at the time of sale is considered proof of good health and survivability. Because live plants are subject to variable conditions, we’re not able to offer a guarantee or refund on all types of living plants purchased.
We are happy to share our expertise with you to maximize your success with our plants, trees, and shrubs. Prior to the time of purchase, please see one of our Nursery Specialists or refer to our planting and watering guideline sheets for more information on how to care for plant materials.
Sun River Gardens fully guarantees certain plant material for replacement or store credit. Please see specific plant guarantees listed below. If your plant does not survive, please return it together with your original sales receipt to our customer service desk. We cannot offer a guarantee on any plant material without proof of purchase. This is a one-time replacement only and replacement plants will carry no guarantee. If we are out of stock on the replacement plant, a store credit will be issued.
If a plant is brought back for a refund and still has live buds and green tissue, we will not be able to offer a refund. Sun River Gardens is not responsible for extreme natural conditions such as: floods, ice, drought, wildlife or neglect.
Seasonal color, herbs and vegetables are not guaranteed.

Up to 1 year from the date of the original sales receipt. 100% store credit or replacement will be given. If Sun River Gardens professional planting service planted the trees, there is a 1 year guarantee on the plants and we will plant your replacement at no charge. No guarantee will be given on trees planted in a container, left in the original container, or damaged mechanically. We do offer a 5 year guarantee for trees purchased at full retail price. Please speak with a Nursery Associate to find out how your tree can qualify.
Blooming plants and small green foliage plants 2”, 4” and 6” in size do not hold a guarantee. Air Plants (Tillandsia) are not guaranteed. Large tropical trees and plants 8” size or greater will be guaranteed up to 30 days from the date on the original sales receipt. 100% store credit or replacement will be given. This includes citrus plants.
We are unable to offer a guarantee on the following:
Bonsai, Orchids, Live Christmas Trees, fresh cut Christmas trees, evergreens purchased in December and custom design work.
