Gardeners have been growing herbs for hundreds if not thousands of years. Herbs have been used medici- nally; they have been used for their fragrance, their beauty, and for flavoring and seasoning in the kitchen. They drive away garden pests and deter the deer and other nighttime invaders. And in our day, growing herbs is an economical way to avoid purchasing those little containers of basil or thyme or rosemary at the grocery store. Herbs are, for the most part, drought tolerant – perfect for the high desert we live in. But what to do with them? Herbs make even the simplest of meals delicious and full of flavor. Come join us at the tables at Sun River Gardens as we explore and share a multitude of ways to enhance your cooking skills with herbs. We’ll provide samples of tasty dishes and lots of recipes for you to take home.
